Type 1 Superstars

Fund raising for Type one superstars, (children with Type 1 Diabetes) this is a subject close to my heart as my niece has Type 1 Diabetes her Mum organised a fundraising event for 15th April 2012 which I was asked to take my massage chair to. I gladly took the opportunity to raise money for a good cause and if there is any chance of a cure I’d be delighted for my niece.

There were lots to do including children’s games, face painting, nail art, choc fountain, cake sale, a BMW race car, massages, plus a raffle with over 20 prizes, including vouchers for various local businesses. The amount of money raised at this event was £864.17. Then add the £225 online donations, altogether the type 1 superstars have raised a massive £1089.17

Onsite massage is an invigorating massage which is performed over clothing, this means it can take place anywhere such as in an office, on the beach or promenade, at a conference, fundraising events and I’ve even carried out this treatment at a few motorsport events helping one of the entrants get 1st in his class.

This massage treatment can last from 5 to 60 minutes dependant on what the receiver requires, the benefits are as numerous as any other massage treatment. Onsite massage helps to alleviate chronic stress, alleviates tension in the muscles, increases blood and lymph flow and rejuvenates the receiver which is very beneficial to a company as when most employees starts to feel tired and withdrawn it enhances their performance increasing their productivity. This can save the company a lot of money in lost productivity from staff sickness as the treatment gives a boost to staff morel. Absent levels are at 7.6 days per employee (published in October 2013) in the Uk according to the survey carried out by CIPD. The analysis is based on replies from 618 organisations employing a total of 2.3 million employees.

Some facts taken from the International Journal of Neuroscience

When evaluating the effects of massage on job performance and stress reduction, The subjects who had received a massage showed

Decreases EEG alpha and beta waves and increased delta activity consistent with enhanced alertness.
Mathematical problems were completed in significantly less time with significantly fewer errors.

Anxiety and job stress levels were lower at the end of the 1-month period.

Massage therapy reduces anxiety and enhances EEG pattern of alertness and math computations.

It was great to be able to attend an event and raise money for a worthy charity and give the recipients of my treatments such a boost to their day also.

If anyone would like to discuss including this treatment at a charity event please contact me I’ll be happy to help any way I can.
