Bellabaci Cupping Massage

Cupping therapy has been practiced by the Chinese for at least three thousand years along with Tui Na massage, acupuncture and herbs, cupping forms part of the traditional body work or physiotherapy system of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The cups are applied to pressure points to relieve stagnation of Qi and blood, both locally and organ(s) activated by that point.

In the west the ancient Egyptians passes the art of cupping on to the ancient Greeks, Herodotus, a famous Greek historian and physician, wrote:

“Scarification with Cupping possesses the power of evacuating offending matter from the head; of diminishing pain of the same part; of lessening inflammation; of restoring the appetite; of strengthening a weak stomach; of removing vertigo and a tendency to faint; of drawing deep-seated offending matter towards the surface; of drying up fluxions; checking haemorrhages; promoting menstrual evacuations; arresting the tendency to putrefaction in fevers; allaying rigors; accelerating and moderating the crisis of diseases; removing a propensity to somnolence; conciliating natural repose; removing heaviness. These, and many analogous maladies, are relieved by the judicious application of the Cucurbits (Cups), dry or bloody.”

Cupping remained an important part of medicine and therapy in the west until early 20th century. After falling in favour with medicine in the modern era, cupping therapy is enjoying resurgence in popularity, promoted by acupuncturists and other holistic healthcare practitioners, one of the secrets of cupping’s perennial popularity if it’s great ability to promote a state of deep pleasure and profound relaxation.

The Bellabaci cups are the latest edition of cup sets developed my medical suppliers and are made from a more flexible material for the comfort of the patient and the therapist. These cups also reduce the danger of burns or injuries and the vacuum is easily controlled allowing the movement of the cups which allows the benefit of cupping and massage to be combined while reducing the risk of the cup kiss.

Cupping has been found to affect the body up to four inches into the tissues, causing tissues to release toxins, activate the lymphatic system, clear colon blockages, help activate and clean the veins, arteries and capillaries, activate the skin, clear stretch marks and improve varicose veins.

Cupping is the best deep tissue massage available.
